Historical aerial photograph shows farm property in 1949. The elongated N-S shadow to the lower left on the property is believed to be a historic burn pit for this long-time farming enterprise. The same spot is visible on the aerials in all years to present.
The burn pit today. Pile of branches, leaves, other wood, trash, and a 5-gallon pail of some used oil to start it. Burning of refuse is customary on some properties, but could result in accumulation of metals, fuels, or other materials that did not burn.
